Text: Proverbs13:13&14

13 He who despises the word will be destroyed, but he who fears the commandment will be rewarded. 14 The law of the wise is a fountain of life, to turn one away from the snares of death.



All we need for survival both physically and spiritually is the Word. The Word is truth and anyone who is led by the Word walks in liberty and is not afraid. So if you despise the Word, you will be destroyed. You will walk in darkness and will never locate your destination in life. 

However, anyone who fears the commandment will be rewarded for the Lord is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. The Lord God is all-wise and knowing so His laws (to love Him and our neighbours) are a fountain of life. If we keep to the law of love, we will live at peace with all. We will never be entangled in the snare of betrayal, hatred and revenge which most often lead to death. Speak the Word, act the Word and live by the Word in all you do and it shall be well with your soul. 


PRAYER: Thank You Lord for giving us life in Your Word. Holy Spirit divine help us to live by the Word and may the Lord's reward locate us to His glorification. This we pray in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Apollos means "one who destroys or a destroyer". He was a New Testament figure who steadily grew to become a servant of Jesus through ministry. DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
