DEVOTION ~ AT YOUR WORD LORD

Theme: At Your Word Lord
Text: Luke 5:5&6

But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking.

Simon did toil all night long and caught nothing and while washing his nets, he gave his boat out to the Lord. When asked to launch into the deep and let down the nets for a catch, he replied sincerely, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless, at Your word, I will let down the net.” There are times we feel like throwing in the towel but at the Word of the Master, we must obey and keep up to the task.

It was in the obedience he (Simon) had his breakthrough, not in the toil. We need to understand the distinction between labouring without grace (toil) and labouring with grace (divine intervention). If we heed the Word, grace will change our story. As it was in the case of Simon and his companions, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking, so will our breakthrough come forth visibly and tangibly to the glory of God's Name.

PRAYER: Dear God, thank You for that at Your Word there is a turnaround to all situations even to those that seem dead and impossible. Strengthen me to always act on Your Word in faith. Thank You, Lord, in the Name of Jesus Christ for answered prayer and all-around breakthroughs and testimonies. AMEN!
