DEVOTION ~ CAUGHT IN THE ACT
Theme: Caught in the Act
Text: John 8:3&4
3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery. And when they had set her in the midst, 4 they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act.
Many of us are quick at pointing fingers at others when they go wrong. One thing we often forget is the fact that, though we have not been caught by our fellow human beings, God knows of every deed of ours whether clean or dirty. Have you ever been caught in an act? How did you feel? May we not possess the attitude of the Scribes and Pharisees who are good at detecting people's guilt but not their very own. Instead of trying to make a public show of people's acts of guilt, show them the love of Christ and guide them to the path of His Righteousness.
PRAYER: Be merciful Lord unto me for the moments I failed to be a neighbour to others. Deliver me from the spirit of accusation and judging others. May the Holy Spirit kindle in me the desire to show love to those who have fallen than make a public show of their unrighteous act. This I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
