DEVOTION ~ NEITHER DO I CONDEMN YOU

Theme: Neither Do I Condemn You
Text: John 8:10&11

10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” 11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”

In the previous devotion, we learned about a woman caught in adultery brought to Jesus by her accusers. Jesus asks whoever is without blemish should cast the first stone causing the accusers from the mature to the young ones to leave until the woman was left alone. Christ is merciful and He shows it to anyone who comes to Him in penitence.

His concern about where the adultress accusers are and whether they have not condemned her is out of mercy. Who then is our accuser in this dispensation? The devil and his agents are the accusers of the brethren. But when they bring us before Christ, mercy will speak on our behalf. He has paid the debt in full so He will not condemn us again. His response when the woman said no one has condemned her is “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.” May we also learn to sin no more.

PRAYER: Have mercy upon me o Lord and blot out my transgressions. Help me to live worthy of my identity in Christ. Thank You, Lord, that You do not condemn me. May I also not condemn any but help others to draw closer to You. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
