DEVOTION ~ NO LONGER A REPROACH

Theme: No Longer a Reproach
Text: Nehemiah 2:17

17 Then I said to them, “You see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lies waste, and its gates are burned with fire. Come and let us build the wall of Jerusalem, that we may no longer be a reproach.”

Nehemiah nailed it right when he uncovered the destruction of Jerusalem to the Jews, the priests, the nobles, the officials, and the others who did the work. His word points out how distressed we become when the wall (the security or peace of our homes, workplace or even country) is destroyed. These broken walls of our lives pave way for reproach (disappointment or failure to meet good expectations). The sure way to reverse reproach is to build. If we learn to bounce back to doing the right thing and ensuring we do away with the things that destroy our walls then we shall no longer be a reproach.

PRAYER: Dear God, stir in me the desire to build the walls of my ministry, marriage, family, church, community, workplace, nation and every area of my life. Give me the insight to find more reasons why the walls ought to be built. Thank You, Lord, for answered prayer in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
