CHARACTER STUDY ~ JONADAB

Jonadab was the son of Shimeah, David’s brother and he was the adviser of Ammon David's son. He is said to be a very shrewd man. He gave bad advice to Ammon which led him into raping his half-sister. An issue which later claim the life of Ammon when Absalom murdered him.

Lessons to learn from Jonadab's character;
 ¶ He was a bad companion. He never gave Ammon any good counsel. If he had not device such an evil plot in Ammon, he wouldn't have forced his way with his half-sister.
¶ He declared Ammon's death without sympathy as a true friend would. He told the king; “Let not my lord suppose they have killed all the young men, the king’s sons, for only Amnon, is dead. For by the command of Absalom this has been determined from the day that he forced his sister Tamar. Now, therefore, let not my lord the king take the thing to his heart, to think that all the king’s sons are dead. For only Amnon is dead.”
¶ Be mindful of evil companions because they can ruin your life.
