Theme: The Genealogy 
Text: Matthew 1:1-6a

1 The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham: 2 Abraham begot Isaac, Isaac begot Jacob, and Jacob begot Judah and his brothers. 3 Judah begot Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez begot Hezron, and Hezron begot Ram. 4 Ram begot Amminadab, Amminadab begot Nahshon, and Nahshon begot Salmon. 5 Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse, 6 and Jesse begot David the king.


It is good to keep family history as it is essential to know one's roots. The genealogy of Jesus Christ is three fourteen generations. The text for consideration is the first set of generation. The father of all is Abraham so he begins this order which ends with the royal dynasty of King David. 

One significant thing to note here is, the women mentioned in this texts have peculiar thing; either they are not legitimate wives or are non-jewish descendants. Tamar deviced a cunning means to become pregnant with Judah her father-in-law. Rahab was a prostitute who saved the Israeli spies to Jericho. Grace found her to save not only her life but her family as well. She was the mother of Boaz. Ruth a widow was willing to be with her mother-in-law (Naomi). These women were wonderfully chosen by God to pave way for the joy of uniting the human race under Jesus Christ. God can use you too to turn the ugly to beautiful. Just avail yourself and the Lord will perfect His Good works in you. 


PRAYER: Thank You Lord for making me a part of Your glorious family. Help me to build a home and to keep good record of my family in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
