DEVOTION ~ WHO ARE YOU?

Theme: Who Are You?
Text: John 1:21&22

21 And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.” 22 Then they said to him, “Who are you, that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?”

In yesterday's devotion, we mentioned that John the Baptist was honest and never in any way attempted to usurp the title of Jesus Christ. Today's text is proof of who he was. He was asked if he is Elijah, a prophet, and what has he to say about himself. Have you ever taken the pain to quiz yourself about what you think you are? Who are you? The answer can only be best given if you know your place in Christ. You are nothing without Christ.

PRAYER: Dear God, open the eyes of my understanding as John the Baptist that I may know who I am. Give me the courage to boldly declare who I am in the Name of Jesus Christ have I asked. AMEN!
