Theme: Fitting or Not Fitting?
Text: Ephesians 5:3&4

3 But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; 4 neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.



Yesterday's devotion admonished us to be imitators of God; let love take absolute control in all things so that we can be identified as children of God. Today's text focuses on what is fitting and not in our walk with God. As dear beloved children of God, we are to do away with sin no matter how enticing it could be. When the edge to fornicate, defile our spiritual garment, greed, envy, jealousy, teasing, and ungodly discussions the carnal man will deem entertaining should not be a part of our lifestyle. We ought to assess our lifestyles to determine whether it is fitting or not for the Kingdom of God. We are called to worship the Father in holiness and as well be grateful for all things He gives us.


PRAYER: Father, in Your holiness You have called us to unite with You. But we have failed in walking the path of righteousness through our own cravings and lust for worthless things. Have mercy on us Lord God Almighty that such sins shall never be named amongst us. May we be grateful and give thanks to You always in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
