DEVOTION ~ HUSBANDS LOVE YOUR WIVES

Theme: Husbands Love Your Wives
Text: Ephesians 5:25-27

25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.



In yesterday's devotion, we learned that wives ought to submit to their husbands as the church to the Lord Jesus Christ. Today's text emphasizes husbands must love their wives. Christ sacrificed for the betterment of the church this is out of love unconditional. Husbands must equally have this kind of love for their wives and home. This love directs and distinguishes (sets apart) the wives as Christ sets apart the church from the world through His Word; the words of the husbands must bring sanctification and glorification to their wives so that they can present them worthy before their families, neighbours and friends. Husbands must not degrade their wives before others but rather show love in words and actions. Love covers all wrongs so husbands ought to make up for the flaws or weaknesses of their wives and help them to overcome every form of weakness. Then they can present their wives holy and without blemish as Christ presents the Church in His loving grace to redeem it. 


PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, let Your fountain of love spring out of every husband to love his wife unconditionally. Teach husbands to protect and present their wives in honour at all times. This we pray in Your Holy Name. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
