Theme: Woe to Them!
Text: Jude vs 11

11 Woe to them! For they have gone in the way of Cain, have run greedily in the error of Balaam for profit, and perished in the rebellion of Korah.



The wicked flee when no one is chasing so is it with all evildoers. Their lives are more miserable than can be imagined it is to this, the text for today exclaimed "Woe to them!" If the anger of Cain inhibits you, your life will be clouded by unrest in your mind and in your heart. It will land you in bitter circumstances like Cain who became a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth till he died because he could not control his anger and killed his brother Abel. (Genesis 4)
In the case of Balaam, the gains from Balak is what enticed him not to hearken to the voice of God. The very thing (his donkey) that seems to delay his journey was rather saving him from the Angel of God. Balaam might have escaped death but woe to you who follow in his stead for you might not be given the same opportunity. (Genesis 22)
 In a dispensation like ours where people feel their academic achievement is enough to hold higher titles in the church, they ought to look back at what happened to Korah. His rebellion of speaking ill of Moses and Aaron without considering that the Hand of God was upon them led to his death (the earth opened and swallowed them) and that of those who associated with him. If you disrespect the anointed one of the Lord, you will pay dearly. (Genesis 16)


PRAYER: Dear God, save me from the woes of Cain, Balaam, and Korah. Renew my kind by the power of Your Holy Spirit and make me a faithful and trustworthy servant in Your Kingdom in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
