CHARACTER STUDY ~ KING JOSIAH

King Josiah is a descendant of King David the son of King Amon and his mother was Jedidah the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath. Josiah was eight years old when he became king, and he reigned for thirty-one years in Jerusalem. He did what was pleasing in the sight of God and led the people of God back to God. Before him there was no king like him, who turned to the Lord with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Law of Moses; nor after him did any arise like him.

Some Characteristics of King Josiah;
√ He became king at a very young age but reigned well.
√ His quest to renovate the house of God led to the discovery of the law of the Lord.
√ He welcomed the Word of God with a penitent heart
√ He consulted the prophetess
Huldah on what to do concerning the law of the Lord that was found
√ He made a covenant before the Lord, to follow the Lord and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book
√ He had a proper housecleaning by removing the idols and priests to such detestable practices by burning them
√ He was used by God to fulfill His prophecy concerning His nation. 
√ He led the nation of God to observe the Passover after a long period
√ He was killed by Pharaoh Necho

We must learn to diligently serve the Lord and do away with anything that has become an idol in our lives.

Apollos means "one who destroys or a destroyer". He was a New Testament figure who steadily grew to become a servant of Jesus through ministry. DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked.
