DEVOTION ~ THE ANSWERED PRAYER

 Theme: The Answered Prayer

Text: John 14:12-14

12 “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

In the past few days, our focus has been on Jesus and how His works take root in the authority of the Father God Almighty. For us to perform the works He did while on earth, we must believe in Him. No ministry can survive or be well established without the authority of God. If we trust God in all things then our ministry will grow from grace unto grace. God has used many people in the past and even in our dispensation to do extraordinary works (miracles). The scenarios of Elijah and Elisha, and the miracles performed by the apostles are examples of what we can do if we believe in Jesus Christ.

Have you ever asked a stranger for a favour? What was the response like? Guess the person gave a look that either express "Hello! Where do I know you from or a state of confusion and surprise". Establishing a relationship with Christ requires believing in Him. It takes faith to believe in the Lord and to have an established relationship with Him. In our text for consideration, He mentioned that if we believe in Him and ask anything (not some things but anything) in His Name, He will grant it. Why not in any other name but the Name of Jesus Christ? He has been given the Name above all names (Philippians 2:9) and His Blood has atoned for our transgressions (John 1:29; Romans 3:21; Ephesians 1:7; Revelation 1:5). Whatever we desire should be directed to God and He will provide according to His perfect will and riches.

PRAYER: In the Name of Jesus Christ, Father provide the needs of my family, business, career, health, education, and all areas of my life. Thank You for making them all possible. AMEN!
