DEVOTION ~ FAITH MATTERS

Theme: Faith Matters
Text: Matthew 14:31-33

31 And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” 32 And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. 33 Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.”

The world of the believer is best built strongly and firmly on faith - faith in the One True God and the Sovereign Lord of all. In yesterday's devotion, we learned we ought to step out in faith. Peter never drowned until fear took over him then he cried out to the Lord to save him. Whoever shall call upon the Name of the Lord shall be saved and so the Lord came to his rescue. The saving grace of Christ strengthened the faith of the other disciples and they worshipped Him saying truly Jesus is the Son of God.

Dear beloved in the Lord, faith matters in our journey of life. For without faith, we can't please God. At a point, Christ said if the faith of the disciples could be as little as a mustard seed then they can say to the mountain be moved and it will obey. However, in speaking regarding Peter's fear He said, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?” It implies faith must grow with the believer. If you come to the Lord with a little faith, abiding in His presence should transform that little faith into an extraordinary one. Faith matters in our relationship with God as we can do much with it. Faith will help us sail through the storms of life and know what the will of God is for our lives.

PRAYER: Save us Lord in our unbelieve. Strengthen us by the Holy Spirit to grow in faith throughout the changing scenes of this world until we come to Your eternal rest. This is our prayer in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
