DEVOTION ~ REASONABLE SERVICE

Theme: Reasonable Service
Text: Romans 12 :1

12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. 



Paul exhorts the church in his time which is equally relevant to our dispensation to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, and acceptable to God which is our reasonable service. To present our bodies as a living sacrifice calls for total surrender and holy living. It's an embodiment of service to God. It is just not a service but a reasonable service to the Most High in His Vineyard and in our associations with others.

The command concerning sacrifices of animal offerings in Leviticus 1:10 says, ‘If his offering is of the flocks—of the sheep or of the goats—as a burnt sacrifice, he shall bring a male without blemish.' The emphasis is on without blemish. Every reasonable service to God must be carried out in purity. In John 21:15-17, Peter's love according to Christ must manifest in his service by feeding His flock (converts). Our reasonable service is to serve in the purity and in the love of the Lord.



PRAYER: Dear God, I desire to serve You by presenting my body as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable unto You. Help me to reasonably serve in any capacity I have the chance to serve as though to You. Thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit that works in me to attain this reasonable service in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
