DEVOTION ~ THINK SOBERLY
Theme: Think Soberly
Text: Romans 12:3
3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
The Apostle Paul has identified the need for each believer to do away with pride as we are all members of one body in Christ. Before delving into it, he admonished the church to not think more highly of themselves than they ought to think. This is to say, never undermine others in the faith. We have all received the same grace from God with diverse levels of maturity; some are infants while others are mature Christians. Therefore we out to be circumspect with how we relate to these two groups. The best form of response is to humble ourselves and be at par with both the infant and mature Christians in reasoning. Never intimidate the infant Christian nor dog-eat-dog with the mature Christian. Think soberly as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.
PRAYER: Merciful Father, have mercy on me for not considering the harm I might have caused others in my actions in the past. Holy Spirit divine, help me to think soberly as God has dealt with each one according to a measure of faith that I will gather the flock and not scatter it. This I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
