Theme: Open Your Heart

Text: 2 Corinthians 7:2

2 Open your hearts to us. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have cheated no one. 


In a dispensation where crime has increased and people use different kinds of tricks to dupe and usurp others, the letter of the Apostle Paul should serve as a guide to how we make room for people in our hearts. He identified three things why the Corinthians ought to open up to him and his associates in the Lord: They have not wronged, corrupted, or cheated anyone. We have to watch out for these in the people whom we give attention to. Anyone whose intent is evil towards you, leads you to sin against the Lord, or takes advantage of you is not worth opening your heart to. Be vigilant so you do not end up hurting yourself. However, we must open up to those who will lead us on the path of the Lord and who seek the best in life for us.  


PRAYER: Lord, let Your Word guard my heart so that I may be mindful of giving room to unfriendly friends who draw near to me with the intent to do wrong, corrupt, or cheat me. Holy Spirit make me receptive to those You send my way to help me so that Your will be fulfilled in my life in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
