DEVOTION ~ SAME MIND

Theme: Same Mind 

Text: Romans 12:16

 16 Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.


Our struggles in life often have to do with us trying to project ourselves above others. The fall of Lucifer came about as a result of what he thought of himself (I will ascend... I will... Isaiah 14:12-21). Lucifer was brought to nothing because of the "I will - pride and cynical behaviour in him". Likewise in the parable of the rich fool, his concern was on "I will..." forgetting that the harvest is the Lord's (Luke 12:13-21). The Apostle Paul expounds that we should agree with believers (have the same mind) before God. Our talk should not advance "I will.." rather it should be "We will...". 

Humility should be a part of us not only in deeds or words but deep in our hearts and minds. Some people appear humble on the outside but deep inside is arrogance and they are careful not to present it before others so they can be seen as humble. That attitude is being wise in your own way, it will expose you one day for from the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. May the humility of Christ work in our minds at all times.


PRAYER: Almighty God, You humble the proud and exalt the humble. Guide every action of mine and deliver me from pride and cynical attitudes. May I have the same mind as all children of God and trust in You Lord, not my own ways. This I pray for in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
