DEVOTION ~ FRUITFUL IN SEASON

Theme: Fruitful in Season

 Text: Psalm 1:3a

3 He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.


The text today highlights the nature of the man who delights in the law of God and meditates on it. He is likened to a tree planted by streams of water. Every plant has its season of fruition but it can be unfruitful in its season if it does not have the right amount of water to keep it fresh. Likewise, the human race cannot flourish outside the will of the Living Water for they may seem to flourish but are actually dried inside and quickly wither due to dehydration.

A tree planted by the stream of water is never dehydrated and so has enough water to keep it fresh and ready to bear fruit in its season. Keeping the precepts, instructions, and teachings of God waters our lives for the season of drought (when evil springs) so that we can produce the right fruit (fruit of the spirit; love, joy peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control) of the season when we are challenged. This is because our roots are deepened in Christ the Living Water just like the tree by streams of water has deep tap roots.


PRAYER: My Lord and God, You are the source of Living water please plant me by Your living water to be fruitful in season. Make me bear the right sweet fruit of life that I may feed many with my fruit to Your glory. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
