Theme: The Path

Text: Psalm 1:1b

1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful


In yesterday's devotion, we mentioned three plagues that usurp our blessings from God and delve into the first plague. Today, we will have a look at the second plague which is the path of sinners. The path of sinners is a lifestyle, a state of being, or a carnal mindset. When one is conformed to worldly pleasures and acquainted with the counsel of the ungodly, he/she soon walks the path of sinners. He is enticed by the lifestyle of sinners and willfully adopts such lifestyles. He no longer sees anything wrong with his way of life that displeases God and calls it normal forgetting that "There is a way that seems right unto a man but its end is destruction (Proverbs 14:12)". 

Dear beloved in the Lord, if there is a path of sinners then there is sure to be a path of the godly. The path of the godly aligns with the will of God. Which path are you walking? Pay heed to what our Lord Jesus expounds in Matthew 7:13-14 "Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it".


PRAYER: Father in heaven, help me to be mindful of my associates. Deliver me from the path of sinners and lead me on the narrow path of life through its difficulties. Thank You for answering me in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
