DEVOTION ~ THE SCORNFUL
Theme: The Scornful
Text: Psalm 1:1c
1 Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful
In previous devotion, we learned that the way of sinners ends in destruction while the narrow way of godliness brings life. Today we will look at the final plague in Psalm 1:1 which talks about the seat of the scornful. The scornful has no regard for people and despises others either in words or by their actions. Sitting in the seat of the scornful means associating and indulging in the act of the scornful. Dear beloved in the Lord, if you give a little room to ungodly counsel, it guides you to the path of sinners and finally settles you in the seat of the scornful where you disregard the warnings of other believers as well as the Word of God contemptuously. You need to avoid the seat of the scornful because you do not mock men but rather God when you express yourself or act scornfully. Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap (Galatians 6:7). Therefore, the scornful cannot benefit from the blessings of God.
PRAYER: Father in heaven, thank You for Your Word that teaches me how to access Your blessings. Guide me Holy Spirit of God to avoid the counsel of the ungodly, the path of sinners, and the seat of the scornful. In the Name of Jesus Christ, I am delivered from the spirit of the scornful and I manifest the fruit of the Holy Spirit. AMEN!
