DEVOTION ~ FAITH DISPLAYED THROUGH WORKS

Theme: Faith Displayed through Works 

Text: James 2:18

18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 


In the previous devotion, we established that faith without works is dead. In the text for consideration, we will look at how our works display our faith. If we cannot show forth anything for our faith it simply means our works are not geared towards what we hope for. If you have faith to be a pilot and fail to work at it, but instead you have enrolled to learn how to drive a vehicle or a yacht with the hope it can help you then you have no works to show forth. The time and energy should have been vested into training as a pilot. Dear beloved in the Lord, our faith and works must go hand-in-hand: The works will display our faith without us doing any explanation. Whatever you are trusting God for, begin to work at it and seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit so that you can show your faith through your works. 


PRAYER: Dear God thank You for enlightening me on how best to display my faith. Lord all I am trusting You for in my ministry, marriage, family, education, career, health, finances, etc... please help me to work at them through the power of the Holy Spirit so that I can show forth my faith through my works. This I asked in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
