 Theme: Faith Made Perfect by Works

Text: James 2:22

22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 


Abraham as we learned in yesterday's devotion, obeyed God and was willing to sacrifice his son Isaac as God instructed him. On the way to Moriah, when his son asked where the lamb for sacrifice was, Abraham gave a remarkable response of faith: “The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?” Abraham answered, “God Himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son” (Genesis 22:6-8). His faith was made perfect through his works and that is what God looks up to us to do. We do not just say we are Christians, let our deeds evangelize for us as such. A lot of us feel works are not necessary but they are. Our works build and perfect our faith.


PRAYER: Dear God, help me to put my faith to work as I discharge my duties. Give me the courage and faith of Abraham that I may trust You in all things than lean on my own understanding. Thank You, Lord, for answered prayer in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
