DEVOTION ~ MANY GATHERED

Theme: Many Gathered 

Text: Mark 2:1&2

1 And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house. 2 Immediately many gathered together so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them.



In a dispensation when the pressures of life seem to weigh the human race down, there is one thing needed to bring relief which is the Word of God. Unfortunately, many have become cold to the study of the Word of God. When Jesus was about His Ministry, many souls surrounded Him just to listen to Him teach. The people gathered because they had heard Jesus was around. Dear beloved in the Lord, how do you respond to the Gospel? Do you avail yourself to hear the Word being preached or do you use it as a water dispenser? Most Christians only dispense the Word of God when they need it rather than to daily use it as fuel in their spiritual journey. If you dispense the Word of God only when you need it, you will be found wanting in the day of adversity. Wake up and gather around brothers and sisters of faith to listen and meditate on the Word of God.


PRAYER: Father, I come before You and desire that my spirit be stirred to love, read, listen, and meditate on Your Word daily. May every spirit of procrastination that has taken hold of my life in the study of Your Word be pulled down in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
