DEVOTION ~ TRUE COMPANIONS

Theme: True Companions

Text: Mark 2:3&4

3 Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. 4 And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying.

No one is an island therefore we need to connect to people however, if you fail to connect to the right people, you will have companions of no value. The paralytic brought to Jesus cannot do anything for himself. His life is limited to his mat and only gets to know about trending news through companions who come to him. How often do you promote others or push them to be better than you met them? How many of your companions think well for you or are always looking out for the best for you? If you are thinking of getting true companions, you must yourself be one.

The love the companions of the paralytic man show is an awe one. Having no access for him to meet Jesus because of the crowd, they might have contemplated so many options before finally resorting to letting him down through the roof with his mat. You must be ready to go the extra mile with your companions and pray to God to make the hearts of your companions in that direction towards you. How ready are you to let the mat down through the roof for your friend? Are your friends willing to let down your mat through the rooftop? In as much as you have friends that provide materially for you, have friends that constantly lead you to Christ and be willing also to lead them to Christ too. I pray with you today that God will disconnect you from the wrong companions and connect you to true ones in the Name of Jesus Christ.

PRAYER: God, transform me to be a better person and to be a great companion to my relations and even to strangers. I pray my companions are transformed as I am also renewed. Help us all to be true companions so that we can advance Your glory to the end of the earth. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
