DEVOTION ~ WHICH IS EASIER?

Theme: Which is Easier?

Text: Mark 2:8&9

8 But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, “Why do you reason about these things in your hearts? 9 Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’?

In yesterday's devotion, we learned that the Scribes reasoned in their on Jesus' word to the paralytic as blasphemy. Jesus perceived their thought and asked, "Why do you reason about these things in your hearts?" Some Christians today behave like Scribes for they are unable to accept into the church people with previous bad records that have come to penitent. Jesus further asked, "Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’?" Dear beloved in the Lord which is easier: forgiveness or miracle? As we pilgrim on this land, we should understand we shall account for our lives to the Lord. Miracles will not let us enter into His presence on clean sheets but forgiveness will. This has been well expounded in Matthew 7:22-23 "Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’" Desire forgiveness for it brings healing but miracles cannot purge out sin.

PRAYER: Abba! FATHER, have mercy on me and forgive my sins that have brought unpleasant situations to my health, marriage, children, family, ministry, etc... Thank You for the grace to forgive through the redemptive Blood of Christ Jesus. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
