Theme: Listen Carefully

Text: Acts 3:22&23

22 For Moses truly said to the fathers, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your brethren. Him you shall hear in all things, whatever He says to you. 23 And it shall be that every soul who will not hear that Prophet shall be utterly destroyed from among the people.’ 


Communication is a two-way affair: speaking and listening. Our relationship with God is well-established through communication. We ought to learn to listen to Him than make endless petitions to Him. God has already raised Jesus Christ for us to be a guide to our pilgrimage on this earth. We listen to Him through the Word in the Bible as we read and meditate on it. If we are not paying attention to the directions of the Lord, then we could be easily distracted by the evil one. If we do not listen carefully we shall be destroyed through deceit that leads astray. Do you listen carefully to the Lord when He communicates to you through the Word of God? The test to ascertain this is to weigh your obedience to His instructions. Most of us have lost valuables in life because we failed to listen to the Lord's promptings not to take the path we desire to walk on. It is not too late to return to Him and be attentive to His instructions. 


PRAYER: Dear God, give me a listening spirit to be attentive when You speak to me. Deliver me from distractions that hinder my obedience to Your voice and empower me to know Your voice and to love it. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ with thanksgiving. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
