EASTER DECLARATION ~ SALVATION

Theme: Salvation

Text: Luke 23:43

43 And Jesus said to him, “Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise.”

In yesterday's devotion, we started learning about the seven sayings of Jesus Christ on the cross. The first we learned is about forgiveness. Today's focus is on the assurance of salvation to one of the criminals nailed to the cross with Jesus. Where sin is pardoned, the door of salvation is opened. Jesus an innocent Man was hung on the cross with two other criminals, one to the right and the other to the left. One of the criminals blasphemed Him to save them if really He has the power to save. Most of us dare God daily like this criminal. However, the other criminal recognized they were paying the penalty for their sins but not so with Jesus. He sought mercy and he obtained the salvation of his soul that very day. Acknowledging our sins before God brings His pardon and opens the door of salvation to us. The perfect resting place for our souls is in Paradise not this earth. Therefore, let us surrender our souls to Christ while alive so that we will be with the Lord in Paradise after death.

Let us Pray: Almighty God, I thank You for the gift of salvation in Christ Jesus. Lord, remember me when You come into Your kingdom. Redeem my soul from the destruction of the accuser of the brethren and grant me eternal rest in You. This I ask in the Name of Jesus. AMEN!
