CHARACTER STUDY ~ ANNA

The name Anna is Hebrew name for females meaning God has favored me. She was the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was married a virgin and after seven years, her husband passed away.


Some Characteristics of Anna:

✔ She was a descendant of Asher the eighth son of Jacob and Zilpah. It is good for us to keep record of our family tree and to recall on the deeds of ancestors.

✔ She was married as a virgin. Sexual purity is essential in spiritual walk with God. It also helps us to build lasting relationship. Being sexually pure enhanced Anna to devote the rest of her life to the service of God without remarrying after the death of her husband.  

✔ She served in the house of God with fasting and prayers. Indeed she demonstrated that our body (the temple of the Holy Spirit) shall be a house of prayer not a den of evil. When we are carnal in serving God, we could miss the mark to encounter the Redeemer of the world. 

✔ She never allowed age to limit her in discharging her duties in the House of God. At the age of eighty-four, she was always found in the temple. 

✔ She bore witness of the baby Jesus as the Redeemer of the world. If we avail ourselves for divine use, God will reveal deep and secret things to us. 

✔ Her prophetic declaration of the future of the baby Jesus made some religious writers to believe she was a prophetess. 

✔ There's no record of her death and burial in scripture. Amazingly, only Luke gave this vivid account of her in the Synoptic Gospel.

Apollos means "one who destroys or a destroyer". He was a New Testament figure who steadily grew to become a servant of Jesus through ministry. He was a staunch Jew.  Some Characteristics of Apollos: √ Apollos was endowed with great knowledge and was very outspoken. Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
