Theme: God is With You

Text: Matthew 28:18-20

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. 


As the Lord brings the curtain down with His disciples, three things could be noted in His conversation with them. These include:

✔ His empowerment

✔ Commissioning of the disciples, and  

✔ Assurance

Jesus has been given all not some but all authority in heaven and on earth. This means that everything in heaven and on earth is subjected to Him. There is nothing greater than Him and none can ever be compared to Him. We can confidently say, our Lord is the LORD of lords. 

Having obtained the authority, He then commissions the disciples to go in the Name of the Triune God to baptize and teach people the way to the Lord. As children of the Lord, we have been commissioned to go to the end of the earth to preach the Good News and to lead the lost souls back to the Vineyard of God. We ought to teach them to love the Lord God with all their heart, soul, and mind and to love their neighbors as Christ loves them. 

The final but not the least is an assurance of His presence even to the end of the age. Jesus is Emmanuel which means God is with us. We are never alone for Christ is with us and His Holy Spirit is our Guide every step of the way in accomplishing the Great Commission. Amid trial and persecution, we must understand that His presence faithfully abides. God never relents in His promises so trust Him when He says He is with you and your life will never be the same knowing you've got divine company at all times. 


Let us Pray: Thank You Lord for revealing that all authority in heaven and on earth has been entrusted to You. Help me to accomplish the task of the Great Commission and to lead many to Your Truth. I declare Your presence abides with me in all things in the Name of Jesus Christ have I prayed. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
