Theme: You Are a Child of God

Text: 1 John 3:1

3 Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.


Self-identity is essential to guide us to know who exactly we are. If you were asked to introduce yourself, what would be your response?  I guess you would mention your name and probably give a little detail about your family. Awesome! But does that really give your true identity? Your true identity is in Christ Jesus. You are a child of God. We are called children of God out of love. Do you realize how much God loves you? The text for today tells us how much God loves us; See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! Oh! Mine, we are children of God and we ought to let this define who we are. Unfortunately, those not in Christ have no idea of our identity because they do not know Him. Whoever is not of your household cannot tell you how much you are loved so those not in Christ cannot tell you how much God loves you. Do not allow the deceit of the world to prevent you from embracing the love of God as His child. 


Let us Pray: Thank You LORD for pouring out Your love for me and for the opportunity to be called Your child. I rebuke every voice of deceit from the world speaking contrary words about Your love for me. I declare joyfully I am a child of God in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
