Theme: The Spirit Given

Text: 1 John 3:23&24

23 And this is His commandment: that we should believe in the name of His Son Jesus Christ and love one another, as He gave us commandment. 24 Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this, we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us.


In yesterday's devotion, we learned that if we approach God in godliness, we shall receive whatever we ask. Today's text elaborates on the kind of relationship we shall establish with God if we believe in Jesus Christ. Accepting Jesus opens the door for us to fulfill God's commandments. His Word teaches us to love as He loves us and to abide in truth. The Holy Spirit is given that we might have a Guide, Counsellor, and Teacher to lead us in the path of salvation. The Holy Spirit also bore witness of our sonship and He is our advocate. We cannot accomplish God's mandate without the help of His given Spirit. May you never lack the presence of the Holy Spirit so that you can continually have fellowship with God.


Let us Pray: Guide me God to believe in Jesus, love unconditionally, and keep your commandment faithfully. I welcome the Holy Spirit to direct my course to abide in the Lord in all that I do. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Apollos means "one who destroys or a destroyer". He was a New Testament figure who steadily grew to become a servant of Jesus through ministry. COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
