DEVOTION ~ DO YOU MAKE GOD A LIAR?

Theme: Do You Make God a Liar?

Text: 1 John 5:10

10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.

In yesterday's devotion, we learned that the testimony of God of Jesus is far greater than any human testimony. Today's text goes further to tell us what we make of God if we reject His testimony of His Only Begotten Son who came to die for our sake. Truth proceeds from God and He has no lie in Him therefore if one fails to believe His testimony, that individual projects God as a liar. The contradiction in that is that such an individual rather embraces the deceit and lies of the devil. No one can make God a liar but rather the individual has allowed the devil to blindfold him from seeing and knowing the truth. The liberation of such an individual is in Christ Jesus, until he believes in Jesus the testimony of God, the scale that covers his eyes cannot fall off. The moment Saul believed, after Ananias had prayed for him, immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he received his sight at once; and he arose and was baptized. Dear beloved in the Lord, do you have scales in your eyes? Believe in Jesus Christ and your sight shall be restored.

Let us Pray: Dear God have mercy on me for calling You a liar by not believing Your testimony of Your Son and Your promises in Him concerning my life, health, marriage, conception, career, finances, education, etc... I believe in Jesus and I surrender to Him. This I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
