Theme: The Wicked Cannot Touch You

Text: 1 John 5:18

18 We know that whoever is born of God does not sin, but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him.


In a world where crime is on the ascendency, people are more concerned with security and so ensure that their homes a well secured and sometimes insured. But is the physical security enough? Absolutely no! We need to also safeguard ourselves spiritually. As we learned yesterday, every wrongdoing is sinful. In the text for today, we are informed those born of God do not sin but can overcome the edge of sin. Aligning to the will of God is a sure way to be secured from the wicked one. When you dwell in the shelter of the Most High God, the wicked cannot touch you and their antics against you shall never prevail. You are a child of God and His Fatherly protection shall never fail for He has said in Isaiah 46:4 Even to your old age, I am He, and even to gray hairs I will carry you! I have made, and I will bear; Even I will carry and will deliver you.  


Let us Pray: Dear God, thank You for granting me a new birth in Christ Jesus. I surrender my all to You and ask that You preserve me in Your dwelling from the wicked one. This I pray in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
