Theme: You Have Understanding

Text: 1 John 5:20&21

20 And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. 21 Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.


Our ability to comprehend the issues of life both physically and spiritually requires divine understanding. This understanding is in Christ Jesus who has come to uncover the mysteries of life to us in parables and stories. When we welcome Jesus as our Lord and personal Saviour, we receive a new life in Him by the renewal of our minds to the knowledge of truth. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He bestows understanding to us to identify things that usurp us of our divine glory in Christ Jesus. In a dispensation where many things want to take our attention from the truth, we need to have a good walk with Jesus who is embodied with truth to guide us so that we can easily identify the idols in our lives. If we submit to God, we can resist the devil and he will flee from us. Dear beloved in the Lord, we are in Christ and therefore have a divine understanding that we have life abundantly. By divine understanding, declare that you shall not die but live to declare the works of the Lord in the land of the living. 


Let us Pray: Omniscient God, let Your truth envelop me so that I may gain insight into the issues of life that You have revealed. Help me to decree Your Word of truth over my life and to cast down every deceitful argument against my life and family. Thank You, for the gift of understanding in the Name of Jesus Christ have I prayed. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
