CHARACTER STUDY ~ TYCHICUS
Our character for study today shall be Tychicus. The name Tychicus means casualty, fortuitous, fortunate, fateful, fate, or chance. He was a from Asia and a faithful companion of the apostle Paul in his missionary journeys.
Some Characteristics of Tychicus:
√ Tychicus followed the apostle Paul on most of his missionary journeys. He was often mentioned in his letters. Assisting others to advance the Gospel is a sure way to learn.
√ Tychicus was sent to the church in Ephesus and Colossae to brief them on the welfare of the apostle Paul. As we work with others, we must learn to promote them than our selfish gains. May Tychicus' selfless acts teach us to do good.
√ Tychicus was submissive. If he were arrogant, he would not have been able to carry out errands for the apostle Paul.
√ There's no record of his death in the Bible although other Christian literatures might contain it.
