DEVOTION ~ ARE YOU RICH?

Theme: Are You Rich?
Text: Revelation 3:17&18

17 Because you say, ‘I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing’—and do not know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked— 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see.

Material riches are not enough for living. We need to possess spiritual riches as well. The wealth we accumulate here on earth could either be stolen or obsolete. True riches are in the Lord and they never see decay. When we hunger for the Word of God and long to be satisfied by His Living Water, we shall be filled. Some have been blinded by their own carnality to think because they read the Bible daily, speak in tongues, or partake in service work, they are spiritually rich but no! They are not. The absence of self and the introduction of Jesus takes us from the state of being wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked. Christ is calling on us to come and buy freely without a penny well-refined gold, white garments, and anointed oil. Christ's gold is pure without a defect. His riches are unquestionable and that's what tries riches mean. His white garment covers us and does not expose us to danger. The anointed oil is an eye salve that opens our eyes to the truth. We shall no longer be deceived or led astray. Drop your pride and embrace the true riches of Christ.

Let us Pray: Almighty God, I am wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked. I have come to buy of Your refined gold, white garments, and anointed oil with faith in You. Please clothe me and anoint my eyes. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
