Theme: The Book of Life
Text: Revelation 3:5&6

5 He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. 6 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” 


It takes a person who overcomes the seductive power of sin to stand worthy before God. This can only be made possible in Christ Jesus when we accept Him as our Lord and Saviour and walk in His will. As the Lord assured the church in Sardis, likewise shall it be our portion if we overcome sin then we shall be cloth in white garments and have our names written in the Book of Life. What is the Book of Life? The Book of Life is a Book that contains the names of those who could not die the second death or those sealed with the mark of Christ. Dear beloved in the Lord there are diverse books for different purposes in heaven. Some books will serve as books of remembrance of our deeds whether good or evil. These books would be opened but a special book for which you can't afford not to have your name written in it is the Book of Life. This is because anyone whose name is not found in the Book of Life shall be cast into the everlasting fire (refer to Revelation 20:15). It is for this reason Christ admonished the disciples in Luke 10:20 "Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven". 



Let us Pray: Almighty God, please have mercy on me and graciously make me worthy to have my name written in the Book of Life. Thank You Jesus that by Your Blood my name is written in the Book of Life. This I pray in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
