DEVOTION ~ AN EPISTLE TO PHILADELPHIA

Theme: An Epistle to Philadelphia
Text: Revelation 3:7

7 “And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write, ‘These things says He who is holy, He who is true, “He who has the key of David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens”

The text for today is the Lord's sixth epistle directed to the church in Philadelphia. As accustomed to the Lord, He vividly addressed who He is to the church. In this account, Christ introduced Himself as holy and true, possessing the key of David. The nature of God is holiness and truthfulness. Therefore, we who serve Him ought to be holy, and true in all we do. A double life or an ungenuine life should never be mentioned among us. We ought to be explicitly holy and true in all things. Christ goes ahead to express that He holds the key of David to lock and unlock. He can open divine doors for us and any door that will lead to our destruction, He closes so that we are saved. Never be discouraged when a set door isn't opening in your life for it is the strategy of God to ensure you do not fall to the devil's antics. Likewise, can Christ shut our doors if we linger in sin. This should enlighten us that Christ can include or exclude us in His blessings. Let your life depict Christ in holiness and truth so you can be inclusive in all His blessings.

Let us Pray: Almighty God, You are holy and true. Please touch me with Your holiness and truthfulness so I can imitate Christ in all I do. Please open doors of favour and greatness for me. This I ask in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
