Theme: Improving Your Works
Text: Revelation 2:19

19 I know your works, love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the last are more than the first.


In yesterday's devotion, we learned that the church in Thyatira received an epistle from the Lord through its angel. The text for today is focused on their deeds in the Lord and towards others. The key deeds include work, love, service, faith, and patience. Its good works are evident to God either towards the vineyard of God or its fellow brethren. So long as it has the attitude of good works, love springs out towards God and the brethren. Love is hard work as seen in 1 Corinthians 13 so in love the virtue of service is exhibited knowing that service to man is service to God. This notion equips the church in Thyatira to build its faith in God. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. In keeping its faith the church waits on the Lord patiently in all things. It is no wonder the Lord acknowledged that the later works of the church in Thyatira are greater than the former. Dear beloved in the Lord, our works can only improve if we serve God diligently in our deeds as the church in Thyatira. May the Lord help us grow spiritually in Jesus Christ's Name.


Let us Pray: Almighty God, You know the works I have done so far but I cannot boast in any because what I did is filled with pride and ungodly intent. Please help me to avail myself to work in Your vineyard, show love to You and the brethren, serve diligently, grow in faith, and be patient in all things. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

COMMAND YOUR WEEK

What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
