DEVOTION ~ AN OPEN DOOR
Theme: An Open Door
Text: Revelation 3:8
8 I know your works. See, I have set before you an open door, and no one can shut it; for you have a little strength, have kept My word, and have not denied My name.
In yesterday's devotion, we learned that Christ holds the key of David to open and none can shut or close and none can open. In today's text, Christ assured the church in Philadelphia that He has set an opened door before it that no one can shut. The important thing to note is that the works of the church in Philadelphia earned it the assurance of Jesus. The church by strength is weak but has not given room for intimidation. The church stood its ground to keep the Word of God and not deny His Name even when persecuted. Dear beloved in the Lord, you do not need the strength of Sampson to serve God in this perilous dispensation but rather we need to embrace the love of God. In love, we can keep His Word and not deny Him when threatened.
Let us Pray: Almighty God, may Your Holy Spirit guide me in my weakest moment when I'm challenged to deny Your Name or keep Your Word. May I be found worthy like the Philadelphia church so that You can set an opened door before me. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
