Theme: Power Over the Nations
Text: Revelation 2:26-29

26 And he who overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power over the nations— 27 ‘He shall rule them with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter’s vessels’— as I also have received from My Father; 28 and I will give him the morning star. 29 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” 


In yesterday's devotion, we learned that those who have not fallen to the antics of Jezebel the prophetess of doom to commit adultery and idolatry should hold fast to what they have. The text for today is the reward of standing fast in Christ till the end. Do not succumb to the evil around you or let it discourage you from keeping pure. Your focus should be the reward of being given power over the nations to rule with Christ. Aside from ruling with Christ, He has also offered the faithful a reward greater than the kingdom: the reward of Himself, because He is the Morning Star as stated in Revelation 22:16. Dear beloved in the Lord the Spirit says he who has ear let him listen. This admonition is to us all to weigh our lifestyles and introspectively consider if our ways will permit us to attain this reward of ruling with Christ and possessing the Morning Star. 


Let us Pray: Almighty God, have mercy on me and blot out my transgressions. Please give me a listening ear to obey Your commands and overcome ungodly living so that when Christ comes the second time I can rule with Him and receive the Morning Star. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
