DEVOTION ~ BE STRONG IN GRACE

Theme: Be Strong in Grace

Text: 2 Timothy 2:1

2 You, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. 


Grace is an undeserved favour which comes purely and solely from our Lord Jesus Christ. The apostle Paul's second epistle to Timothy his beloved son in Christ begins with an admonishment to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. Having a wavering spirit in serving God leads to destruction. It is for this reason the apostle Paul urges Timothy to be strong. Strength comes from God and He bestows it on anyone who avails to advance His Kingdom. God gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. The ceaseless pressure of society and work makes even the youths weak and tired, falling into exhaustion and leading to complicated issues in their health such as hypertension. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength by the refreshing anointing of the Holy Spirit to soar high on wings like eagles, run and not grow weary, and to walk and not faint (Isaiah 40:29-31). Dear beloved in the Lord, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus for without that you can do nothing. 


Let us Pray: Almighty God, I come before You today seeking for Your grace. Lord, make me strong in Your grace by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
