Theme: Teach Others

Text: 2 Timothy 2:2

2 And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.


In yesterday's devotion, we learned that the apostle Paul admonished Timothy to be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. The text for today is a continuation of the admonishment to teach others what he received from him. One amazing thing about teaching is that the more you teach the more you improve your ability to easily recall and as well learn. Timothy is not just to teach anything but rather the truth. In this text, it is clear that passing on sound knowledge either in the church, home, or community is essential. We ought to train others to fill the gaps so that whether we become incapacitated or die, the young ones will take over from us and train others to build a strong uninterrupted succession. Have you trained anyone to take over from you? What exactly are you impacting: is it the truth or not? May the Holy Spirit enlighten us to learn to teach others who will be able to impact others as well. 


Let us Pray: Almighty God, grant me the spirit of humility to learn from faithful men and women of the faith. I pray for a teachable spirit to impact others so that there shall be an uninterrupted succession of truth in my ministry, family, community, and nation. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
