DEVOTION ~ BELIEVE THE WORKS
Theme: Believe the Works
Text: John 10:34-39
34 Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are gods” ’? 35 If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken), 36 do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of God’? 37 If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me; 38 but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.” 39 Therefore they sought again to seize Him, but He escaped out of their hand.
Previous devotions have taught us that Jesus' audience doubted His Sonship. They even attempted to stone Him because He said; "I and My Father are One". The text for consideration highlights that we ought to believe in Jesus' authority by the works He has done. Dear beloved in the Lord, your life might seem unfulfilled but don't let it take the best part of you. Trust God for better days ahead and He shall perfect His glory. Understanding who Jesus is and aligning with His purpose opens doors for greater exploits. He has been sanctified (set apart) by the Father Almighty to deliver us from damnation. Therefore, instead of finding fault with the Saviour, believe He can do great and awesome miracles in your life.
Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for the many times I have tried to take offence at Your Word. I believe in Jesus's works to bring healing, longevity, prosperity, and all divine blessings to my life. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
