DEVOTION ~ THE RIPPLE EFFECT

Theme: The Ripple Effect
Text: Genesis 38:11
11 Then Judah said to Tamar his daughter-in-law, “Remain a widow in your father’s house till my son Shelah is grown.” For he said, “Lest he also die like his brothers.” And Tamar went and dwelt in her father’s house.

Previous devotions have taught us that two sons of Judah offended God by their actions and were killed. They left a widow behind without a child. The next brother in line to provide an heir is Shelah. However, Judah was afraid he might end up losing all his sons so he asked Tamar to return to her father's home until his son was of age. Dear beloved, the fear Judah had, isn't from ours when issues of such nature should happen. The wicked actions of Er and Onan have harmed Tamar's reputation. The innocent one is now being feared as a weapon of distraction. It is not only in marriage that we have the ripple effect of spouses. The ripple effect is when one thing causes other things to happen. Within our communities and workplaces, the negative actions of others even ourselves can affect reputations and corporate image. We ought to be mindful of how we carry on with our duties. The consequential of a good deed positively promotes growth therefore, we must act in a good fate so that it would be beneficial to all.

Let us Pray: Almighty God, have mercy on me for the times my actions have negatively affected innocent lives. Forgive me and grant me a discerning spirit in every action I take. Lord, deliver me from any actions of others that would ruin my life. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

    1. Amen. Our actions and Inactions indeed affects people around us either positive or negative. May God empower us to affect people in a positive manner rather than negatively affecting them. God bless you.
