DEVOTION ~ UNSNATCHABLE
Theme: Unsnatchable
Text: John 10:27-29
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. 30 I and My Father are one.”
Yesterday's devotion taught us that those who failed to identify Jesus as the Messiah were blindfolded by doubts because they were not part of the sheepfold. The text for considering today accounts for how those of the sheepfold are kept. We shall look at some characteristics of the sheep that belong to Jesus. First, the sheep hears the Lord's voice and follows Him. To be kept in the sheepfold, obedience is required to be sustained. Hearken to what the Good Shepherd is saying and walk accordingly.
Second, the sheep receive eternal life. Abiding with the Lord implies that you shall not perish, but the reverse is true if you go out of His protection to seek pleasure in the jungle of sin.
Third, the sheep cannot be snatched from the Lord because it is a gift from the Sovereign God. God is greater than all powers and no power can contend with Him. It is therefore impossible to be snatched from the Hand of God.
The Almighty has given you to the Saviour, and they all have equal power. That is why Christ reiterated that "I and My Father are One." Dear believer in the Lord, abiding in Christ and listening to His voice shall grant you eternal life, and you shall never be snatched by the evil one in all spheres of your life.
Let us Pray: Almighty God, thank You for being my Good Shepherd. I entrust my life, family, and all that is mine to Your care. May we not be snatched by the wicked or any form of evil. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
Amen. God Bless you.
