Theme: The Door  

Text: John 10:1

10 "Most assuredly, I say to you, he who does not enter the sheepfold by the door, but climbs up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber." 



Doors grant us access and in a digital age as ours the traditional keys are giving way to digitalised ones. It simply means you will be denied access if you do not have the conventional keys or a passcode. This can also apply to our own lives but have we for once considered those we've granted access to our lives and those we've not? The text for consideration alerts us that some pass dubious means to enter into the sheepfold (our lives). These people are termed as thieves or robbers. Why are they given such a mean name? Dear beloved in the Lord, their purpose in our lives is not for good but evil. They have evil intent to usurp what rightfully is ours. The thief never enters the sheepfold to give security but rather to compromise it. As the year 2025 has begun, reflect on the people around you and ask God to open the eyes of your understanding to distinguish between those who came into your life genuinely and those who intend to destroy you. You need to winnow them out of your life for good. Be discerning in all you do this year.



Let us Pray: Almighty God, thank You for enlightening me about those who enter my life without using the door. Please help me to winnow them by the power of the Holy Spirit. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

DEVOTION ~ JUDGING RIGHTEOUSLY

Theme: Judging Righteously Text: Genesis 38:26 26 So Judah acknowledged them and said, “She has been more righteous than I because I did not give her to Shelah my son.” And he never knew her again. Previous devotion taught us that Tamar sent the pledge Judah gave her to him to identify the owner. Upon receiving the items Judah acknowledged his wrong. Judah did not allow pride or ego to cloud his judgment but rather pointed to the role he played in leading Tamar to take such a drastic step to get pregnant. Dear beloved in the Lord, don't be quick to point people's wrong without considering yours. Let us learn from Judah to never push blame to others if we are guilty. Let us Pray: Almighty God, forgive me for employing the full rigour of the law on defaulters but failing to in my own case. Grant me sound judgment to act righteously. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
