DEVOTION ~ THE GAME OF DECEIT
Theme: The Game of Deceit
Text: Genesis 38:13&14
13 And it was told Tamar, saying, “Look, your father-in-law is going up to Timnah to shear his sheep.” 14 So she took off her widow’s garments, covered herself with a veil and wrapped herself, and sat in an open place which was on the way to Timnah; for she saw that Shelah was grown, and she was not given to him as a wife.
Previous devotion taught us that Judah asked Tamar to return to her father's house until Shelah came of age for fear of losing a third son. Unfortunately, Judah had no intention of allowing Shelah to marry Tamar. Tamar played a smart move on Judah. Upon hearing Judah was heading to Timnah to shear the sheep, she took off her widowhood clothes and dressed as though she wasn't a widow. In subsequent devotion, we will learn how Judah fell for her game. Dear beloved in the Lord, do not think you can always outsmart others. If your intentions become known, a different tune will be played for you to dance to as was in the case of Judah. Avoid the game of deceit and ensure you are transparent in all your dealings.
Let us Pray: Almighty God, please deliver me from any form of deceitful way. I pray I shall be truthful in all my ways. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
Heavenly Father please HELP me LORD GOD ALMIGHTY to be TRUTHFUL till the end that my Life, way and end will be pleasing and acceptable in THY SIGHT in JESUS MIGHTY NAME I Pray 🙏❤️
