DEVOTION ~ THE SCARLET THREAD

Theme: The Scarlet Thread
Text: Genesis 38:27&28
27 Now it came to pass, at the time for giving birth, that behold, twins were in her womb. 28 And so it was when she was giving birth, that the one put out his hand; and the midwife took a scarlet thread and bound it on his hand, saying, “This one came out first.”



Rewards can be very motivating in sports. The winner is given a medal or some other agreed-upon reward in sports. It is not only evident in sports but also in every aspect of life. The text for today is the birth of Tamar's twins. A scarlet thread was tied to the one that brought his hand out to avoid the mistake of not knowing which of the twins came first. In our dispensation, baby tags are used on newborns to prevent swaps or for easy identification. In subsequent devotion, we shall know the baby's fate tagged with the scarlet thread. Dear beloved in the Lord, position is not possession. Therefore, we ought to balance the two lest having served in that position we lose face with those we're superior to. 



Let us pray: Almighty God, I commit my ways to You and ask that You direct me in life decisions. This I ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

Do you feel you're forgotten, rejected or insecure? Dear beloved in the Lord, you're not forgotten, for God has engraved your name in His palms. Isaiah 49:16 See, "I have engraved you on the Palms of My Hands: Your walls are ever before Me". If God has engraved your name in His palms, it means He always sees or watches over you. Rise up and shake the fear and doubts off.  Declare, "I am not forgotten or alone. The LORD has engraved me in His Palms. Therefore, His eyes are fixed on me, and He protects me from the wicked. I decree all that I have is secured in the Name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!

What inhibits you determines what comes out of you. The two elements are light and darkness. The light within produces good, whereas darkness is evil. It is recorded in  Ephesians 5:8-9 For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! For this light within you produces only what is good, right, and true.  Declare, "In the Name of Jesus Christ, I no longer walk in darkness but rather in light. Therefore, every product of darkness within and around me is extinct. I decree that my family and I live in light, and we enjoy what the light produces in fullness. Our deeds are good, right, and true. AMEN!"
